What about the letters?
The letters may be handwritten or typed and printed - whatever way your child finds easiest to express themselves.
They should not be emailed.

The letter to Msgr. Mike should include information
such as
why your child wants to be confirmed
why he or she thinks they're ready
what kind of Christian disciple they hope to be
who their saint is and why they chose that person
their relationship to and the reason for choosing their sponsor.
Similarly, the letter to the sponsor should express
things like
why your child chose them as a sponsor
why they are a positive example of someone living their Catholic faith
a request for prayer from them now and in the future
thanking their sponsor for taking on this important role
